Have your say on changes to our Licensing Policy
We’re reviewing our Licensing Policy, which explains how we manage businesses that sell alcohol, provide entertainment, or serve late-night food and drink in the borough. We’d like your feedback.

Why update the policy?
A good policy supports local businesses, gives residents a voice, and helps everyone feel confident about licensing decisions.

What’s changing?

  • Ask for Angela – Guidance for venues to consider introducing the Ask for Angela safety scheme, where appropriate.
  • Drink Spiking – Guidance for licence holders on preventing drink spiking and supporting anyone affected.

Are these changes mandatory?

No. These proposals are guidance only. They will not affect a venue’s ability to obtain or retain a licence. The aim is to encourage best practice and improve safety, not to impose new conditions.

Why these changes?
To follow national guidance, improve safety, and help venues keep customers safe.

Why your views matter
Your feedback will help shape the final policy and ensure it works for businesses and the community.
